The deal takes London-based CUBE beyond financial regulation into cyber, AI, privacy, labour and ESG rules, using 4CRisk's models that map company policies to legal obligations.

CUBE, a London-based provider of regulatory intelligence software owned by the private equity firm Hg, said on 19 February 2026 that it had acquired 4CRisk.ai, a Silicon Valley startup that uses AI to map companies' internal policies and procedures to the regulations they must follow. Terms were not disclosed.

The 4CRisk team, which works from the United States, India and the United Kingdom, is joining CUBE and will add to its group of AI engineers and regulatory specialists, the companies said. 4CRisk's technology will be combined with CUBE's existing products for tracking regulatory change.

CUBE said the acquisition extends its reach from financial regulation into adjacent corporate compliance areas. It plans to fold 4CRisk into a single compliance and risk platform based on agentic AI, so that customers can move from spotting a regulatory change to assessing its effect on their policies, procedures and controls across the whole business.

What 4CRisk built

4CRisk was founded in 2019 by former compliance practitioners and technologists, Crowdfund Insider reported, and is led by founder and chief executive Venky Yerrapotu. Its co-founder Supra Appikonda was named alongside him when the company raised its first institutional round.

The platform takes a company's policies and procedures, breaks them down, and links each part to the regulatory obligations, controls and risks it relates to. It relies on specialised language models that 4CRisk trained on regulatory and risk sources, and on an AI assistant for compliance staff called Ask ARIA. The company says the process produces results up to 50 times faster than doing the same work by hand.

Alongside financial regulation, 4CRisk sells products for corporate compliance in cyber security, AI, privacy, labour law and environmental, social and governance (ESG) rules. Its customers include companies in financial services, insurance, retail and telecoms. Both 4CRisk and CUBE were named in the 2026 RegTech100 list.

“We are honoured to join CUBE, a company we have long admired for its global vision and for setting the standard in regulatory intelligence. 4CRisk was founded to help organisations navigate regulatory complexity with clarity and confidence using AI that can be trusted and explained.”Venky Yerrapotu, Founder & CEO, 4CRisk

Why CUBE is buying

CUBE sells automated regulatory intelligence and regulatory change management software, built on its RegBrain AI engine and RegPlatform. It says it has more than 1,000 customers worldwide, mostly in financial services, and that its platform covers every regulated country.

Founder and chief executive Ben Richmond said CUBE serves the world's leading financially regulated organisations for both their financial and non-financial compliance needs. He said 4CRisk would let RegPlatform customers go from understanding a regulatory change to automatically mapping it onto their internal governance frameworks. In practice, the combined product is meant to show not only that a rule has changed but which internal policies and controls it affects.

Richmond also pointed to the startup's location, saying 4CRisk was an example of the pace of AI work coming out of Silicon Valley and that its team would help CUBE speed up product development.

The founders and the funding

4CRisk raised an $8 million Series A in 2022, led by Cloud Apps Capital Partners with Touchdown Ventures joining as a syndicate partner, according to the funding announcement carried by CIO Influence. The company said at the time that the money would pay for hiring and expansion outside the US. No later rounds were reported.

Yerrapotu said 4CRisk had long admired CUBE and that the startup was founded to help organisations handle regulatory complexity using AI that can be trusted and explained. He described CUBE's regulatory content combined with 4CRisk's automation as a strong combination.

A buy-and-build strategy under Hg

Hg invested in CUBE in March 2024. Joshua Gielessen, an investor at Hg, said building an AI-powered, end-to-end compliance and risk platform had been a strategic priority since then, and that adding 4CRisk's regulatory AI would speed up that plan.

4CRisk is the latest in a series of acquisitions by CUBE. Crowdfund Insider listed earlier purchases of Reg-Room, Thomson Reuters' Regulatory Intelligence and Oden businesses, the operational risk specialist Acin and, in October 2025, the Berlin company Kodex AI.
