Infotech, the IT research and advisory firm formerly known as Info-Tech Research Group, has completed its acquisition of Zluri, a SaaS management and identity governance and administration provider. It announced the deal on October 14, 2026, from Arlington, Virginia. Terms were not disclosed.

It is the first acquisition in Infotech's roughly 30-year history. Solomon Partners advised Infotech. The company announced the purchase together with the global launch of CIO Analytics, a platform it describes as API-driven advisory, and a change of its name that drops "Research Group" and the hyphen.

Zluri will keep serving its customers and will contribute application discovery and identity governance and administration capabilities to CIO Analytics.

What Zluri built

Zluri was founded in 2020 by Ritish Reddy, Chaithanya Yambari and Sethu Meenakshisundaram. Reddy is co-founder and chief executive. The company is based in Bengaluru, India.

Its software finds the applications a company's employees use, which helps IT teams track software spending and manage who has access to what. That work is the application discovery and identity governance and administration functions the buyer named in its announcement.

The press release did not give Zluri's funding, investors, employee count or customer count, and the other reports reviewed did not either.

Reddy said Zluri was clearly the right home from the first conversations with Infotech, according to the release. Infotech said Zluri will continue to serve its customers while its capabilities become part of the new analytics platform.

Why Infotech is buying

CIO Analytics launched with three modules: Service Desk Analytics, Application Discovery and Identity Governance and Administration. It was introduced in beta at Info-Tech LIVE 2026 in Las Vegas. Zluri powers two of the three, according to TechTarget.

TechTarget reported that Tom Zehren, Infotech's chief executive, said buying Zluri lets the company add software tracking and access management tools sooner than it could build them itself. Zehren said in the release: "AI and analytics are nothing without the right data".

Infotech says it serves more than 30,000 IT leaders globally and that annual revenue has passed $300 million, with growth of more than 340% over seven years. It was founded in 1997 by its chairman, Joel McLean.

The name change and the acquisition were announced together with the CIO Analytics launch. Zehren said early customer feedback on the platform has been overwhelmingly positive, and that it connects members' own data with Infotech's research, benchmarks and analysts.

What happens to customers

Zluri will continue to serve existing customers. Reports say it will run as a standalone division with its team based in Bengaluru, and that Infotech plans to expand its technology team there. The identity governance module costs extra, with pricing based on the customer organisation's employee count, TechTarget reported.

Reddy said: "We share the same values and ambition for what we can build for CIOs and their teams". Liam Nediger, Infotech's chief technology officer and executive lead for CIO Analytics, said the platform is designed to keep advisory connected to the tools IT teams rely on every day.

A research firm turns toward software

The deal is unusual because the buyer is an analyst and advisory business rather than a software vendor. McLean said IT leaders need advice that legacy advisory firms are not willing or able to provide, and described the acquisition and the API-driven advisory launch as reflecting where he believes the market is heading.

The price was not disclosed, so the size of the bet is unknown. How many of Zluri's customers renew, and whether Infotech buys again, will show how far it intends to push into software.
