Premarket, a New York platform that lets real estate agents share private and off-market residential listings across brokerages, acquired Maklare AI, a New York startup that uses AI to structure data on buyer demand. The deal was announced on June 25, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
As part of the transaction, Maklare co-founder and chief executive Oliver Wenner joined Premarket as chief operating officer. Premarket said work to bring Maklare's tools to its agent subscribers was already under way.
The two companies plan to combine Premarket's supply of private listings with Maklare's demand data to build what they call a demand intelligence platform for residential real estate.
What Maklare built
Maklare was founded in New York City on the thesis that the lack of information about buyer demand in housing was not inevitable. Signals about what buyers want and when they plan to act have usually stayed with individual agents and disappeared once a conversation ended, leaving the wider market with no record of them.
The startup built AI infrastructure to pull signals about buyer behaviour, preferences and intent out of that scattered, unstructured information and turn it into structured data. The companies did not say when Maklare was founded, how many people worked there or whether it had raised outside money.
Wenner said the property market has always been organised around supply: the stock of homes for sale is tracked and marketed, while there is no structured view of aggregate demand, directional intent or forward-looking buyer signals.
“The demand side has operated in complete opacity. Agents know their own clients, but the market has no structured view of aggregate demand, directional intent, or forward-looking buyer signals. At Maklare, we built the AI infrastructure to change that. Inside Premarket, with real inventory and real buyers at scale, we can build the demand intelligence layer this market has never had.”
Why Premarket is buying
Premarket is an agent-only network that pulls pre-market and off-market listings from different brokerages into one searchable database. It is live in New York City, where it says it has $4 billion in active private inventory and thousands of active buyers, and it plans to expand to other markets.
Access is limited to agents, who apply to join, and the platform's pitch is that they see listings and buyer demand before those reach public portals. Premarket refers to these users as its agent subscriber base, and they are the group that will now get Maklare's demand tools.
The company was built in response to what it describes as the fragmentation of listing data, as brokerages and portals move homes out of shared listing systems and into their own private networks. That shift leaves agents, buyers and sellers with an incomplete picture of the market. Premarket presents itself as neutral shared infrastructure for that private inventory.
Founder and chief executive Brett Helberg said that adding Maklare's capabilities means Premarket can now rebuild shared infrastructure for both supply and demand at the same time, and called the deal a meaningful acceleration of the company's plans.
What changes for agents
Today, pricing and timing decisions in residential real estate rely largely on anecdotal intelligence from agents and on historical sales data. The combined company says structured demand data from its own network could give agents a forward-looking view of how many buyers want a certain kind of home and when.
Because Premarket already holds listings and buyer activity from many agents, Maklare's tools will run on live data from both sides of the private market rather than on historical transactions alone. The companies did not say whether the new features will cost extra or how agent data will be shared.
Wenner described the move as joining two bodies of work aimed at the same structural problem: Premarket had organised the private supply side, while Maklare had worked on making buyer demand measurable. Inside Premarket, he said, the team would have real inventory and real buyers at scale to build on.
The people and the money
Helberg founded Premarket and serves as its chief executive. Wenner, who led Maklare, now runs operations at the combined company. Neither company named Maklare's other co-founders or disclosed funding rounds or investors for either business.
The announcement was issued by Premarket through PR Newswire and republished by outlets including The AI Journal and Pulse 2.0. Premarket did not say whether the deal was paid in cash, shares or a mix, or whether Maklare's other staff joined the company.
