Viventium, a payroll and human resources software provider for post-acute healthcare, said on February 4, 2026 that it had acquired Apploi, a New York company whose software helps healthcare employers recruit, credential, onboard and schedule staff.

The deal closed on January 30, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed. Houlihan Lokey acted as Apploi's financial adviser and Dentons as its legal adviser, while Goodwin Proctor represented Viventium.

Viventium said it would integrate Apploi's recruiting and credentialing tools with its own payroll, HR and workforce management products to create a single system covering an employee's journey from job application to paycheck. The companies did not say what would happen to Apploi's staff or brand, although a later Viventium announcement referred to the product as "Viventium's Apploi Hire ATS".

What Apploi built

Apploi was founded in 2014 as a jobs platform serving several industries and narrowed its focus to healthcare in 2018, according to Crunchbase News and TechCrunch. Its founder and chief executive is Adam Lewis.

Its software lets healthcare facilities post jobs, manage applicants and interviews, collect documents, verify licences and credentials, and schedule shifts. It is aimed at high-volume hiring of staff such as nurses and nursing aides. Apploi pitches the product as a way for care facilities to fill roles faster, rely less on staffing agencies and keep more beds occupied at a time of labour shortages and high turnover.

Apploi says it works with more than 9,000 healthcare organisations across the US. In 2022 TechCrunch reported 6,000 customers and more than 100 employees; the company did not give a current headcount.

Why Viventium is buying

Viventium sells payroll, HR, recruiting, onboarding, scheduling and time-and-attendance software built only for healthcare, mainly for post-acute and long-term care providers such as nursing homes. It says it serves clients in all 50 states and supports nearly 800,000 healthcare employees.

The company said these providers face persistent staff shortages and complex regulation, and have relied on a mix of general-purpose software and disconnected point products. Combining with Apploi gives it stronger tools at the hiring end of that process, where Apploi already had a large customer base. The companies said the merged platform would manage the care staff journey in all 50 states, with healthcare compliance built in, and would give providers one system of record instead of separate tools for hiring, credentialing, scheduling and pay.

Navin Gupta, Viventium's chief executive, said healthcare leaders were tired of fractured systems that were not built for their needs, and that the deal would unify everything from the first job application to the final paycheck. Lewis said joining Viventium would let Apploi move beyond hiring to support the full employee lifecycle.

The founders and the funding

Apploi raised a $5.5 million seed round and had taken in $12.5 million in total by March 2021, when it raised $8 million led by Underscore VC with participation from existing investor Defy, Crunchbase News reported. At that point the company was focused on recruiting, onboarding and credentialing for nurses.

In March 2022 it raised a $25 million Series B led by m]x[v Capital, with Defy and Underscore also investing, bringing its total funding to $38 million, according to TechCrunch. No later funding round was reported before the sale.

The buyer and its backers

Viventium is based in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. It is a portfolio company of Camden Partners, whose managing partner Jason Tagler sits on Viventium's board, and is also backed by LLR Partners, which published the acquisition announcement on its website.

Viventium said the combined business touches thousands of healthcare providers and hundreds of thousands of employees nationwide.

Home Care Magazine reported the deal on February 10, 2026, describing the combined company as a human capital management provider for the post-acute market. Neither Viventium nor its backers disclosed what they paid for Apploi or how the purchase was financed.
