VWO, the website testing and optimisation software company majority-owned by Singapore private equity firm Everstone Capital, agreed to combine with AB Tasty, a Paris-based experimentation and personalisation platform. The two companies announced the agreement in Paris on 20 January 2026. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions.

The companies did not disclose a price or the ownership split of the combined business. Everstone, which leads the transaction, said it was putting significant additional capital into the deal so that it remains the largest institutional shareholder of the merged company. It did not state the amount.

According to the announcement, the combined business will have more than $100 million in annual revenue from over 4,000 customers. The United States and Europe will account for about 90% of revenue. A version of the release published by AB Tasty investor Partech put combined revenue at about $120 million, with Europe contributing 48% and the US 40%.

What AB Tasty built

AB Tasty was founded in Paris in 2014 by Rémi Aubert and Alix de Sagazan, who ran the company as co-CEOs. Its software lets companies run A/B tests on websites and apps, manage feature releases and personalise digital experiences, with AI used to target content. The company said more than 1,000 brands use the platform, including L'Oréal, Samsonite, USA Today and Ganni, in sectors such as travel, retail, banking and insurance.

VWO, founded in 2010 and run by its parent company Wingify, sells a similar suite covering experimentation, analytics, personalisation and feature delivery. It said more than 3,000 brands use it, among them Forbes, Walt Disney, Amway and Cigna.

The funding behind AB Tasty

AB Tasty raised $40 million in a Series C round announced in July 2020. Crédit Mutuel Innovation led the round, and existing investors Korelya Capital, Omnes, Partech and XAnge took part. The company said at the time that the round brought its total funding to $64 million, and that it planned to spend the money on its experimentation and feature management products, on research into AI and automation, and on sales and marketing in the United States. It then counted more than 900 clients and 10 offices.

The merger announcement did not say whether AB Tasty's venture investors will keep shares in the combined business. GP Bullhound, which advised AB Tasty on the deal, said its team was led by partner Guillaume Bonneton and director Joffrey Ezerzer.

Who runs the combined company

Sparsh Gupta, VWO's co-founder and CEO, will be chief executive of the merged company. Ankit Jain will become chief product and technology officer. Aubert will become chief customer and strategy officer, and de Sagazan chief revenue officer. The companies said these executives will keep substantial personal ownership in the combined business.

The merged company will have 11 offices, with teams in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia-Pacific. It did not disclose a combined headcount. Everstone said it would also set up an advisory board of industry experts and operators to support the business.

De Sagazan said the founders had spent several years thinking about the next stage for AB Tasty and had looked for a partner aligned on ambition, culture, product and geography. Gupta said VWO had found a team that complemented it in product and organisational capabilities.

Why Everstone is backing the deal

Everstone Capital is the private equity arm of the Everstone Group. It has $3.5 billion in assets under management, about 100 investment staff and seven offices, and focuses on controlling stakes in mid-sized companies, with an emphasis on technology. It already held a majority of VWO before this agreement.

Sandeep Singh, a managing director at Everstone, described the merger as part of a strategy of combining sector expertise with operations in several regions to build a market leader. He said the two companies together would have one of the broadest product ranges in their category and leading market share in several large regions.

The companies said they plan to invest in an AI-native technology platform and in local teams close to customers. They said they would give further details once the closing conditions are met and the transaction is completed.
