Webflow acquires AI content startup Vidoso to add brand-aware asset generation

Vidoso, founded in 2024, generates images, video clips and other marketing assets that follow a company's brand rules. Its four-person team joined Webflow, which now calls itself an agentic marketing platform.

Webflow, whose software is used to build and host websites, announced on March 12, 2026 that it had acquired Vidoso, a startup that uses AI to generate marketing content. Webflow did not disclose the financial terms, TechCrunch reported.

Vidoso's team of four people joined Webflow full-time. Webflow said it would add Vidoso's technology and agents to its own platform over time and that Vidoso's existing customers would keep access to their products while that work is done.

Webflow chief executive Linda Tong told TechCrunch that the deal involved a small team but would set the company on a different path, and that Webflow should no longer be seen as a website builder or content management system but as an agentic marketing platform.

What Vidoso built

Vidoso was founded in 2024. It uses large language models to help companies produce marketing material, including images, presentations, video clips, blog posts and social media posts. One use is to take a recording of a keynote or a panel discussion and cut it into short clips or turn it into written posts.

The company's pitch was that the output should follow a brand's own rules. Webflow said Vidoso's technology generates visual and video assets that respect brand guidelines, stay consistent across campaigns and channels, and fit into the approval workflows that marketing teams already use.

Vidoso chief executive Sharad Verma said in a statement that general-purpose AI models produce generic material because they know nothing about a specific brand's templates, rules or sign-off processes, and that Vidoso was designed to fix that.

“The acquisition is a small team; it's four people. But the technology and what it does for Webflow sets a very different path […] people have historically seen us as a website builder or CMS. We are an agentic marketing platform, and this is a major step in that direction.”Linda Tong, CEO, Webflow (to TechCrunch)

The team and the funding

Vidoso raised a total of $3.7 million from Aspenwood Ventures, Emergent Ventures and Tau Ventures, according to PitchBook data cited by TechCrunch. The size and timing of individual rounds were not reported.

Verma, who is Vidoso's chief executive, leads the team that moved to Webflow. TechCrunch did not name other founders, and neither company said where Vidoso was based or how many customers it had.

Why Webflow is buying

Webflow has raised more than $330 million and has spent several years adding marketing tools to its website software. It bought the website personalisation startup Intellimize in 2024 and earlier in 2026 launched an integration with Google Ads for tracking campaign performance, TechCrunch reported.

In a blog post about the deal, Tong said the marketing teams Webflow talks to are all experimenting with AI but find that the content does not look or sound like their brand and ignores rules they spent months defining. Webflow describes its answer as a context layer: the content management system, design system, asset library and web analytics that record a brand's rules and tell AI agents what is allowed before they generate anything.

Tong told TechCrunch that AI tools help companies make ads and assets quickly, but that brand, demand generation, product marketing and content teams often work in silos. She argued that teams that create and deploy assets in separate tools must then gather and analyse the results themselves and feed them back by hand, so the process does not learn on its own. Inside one platform, she said, the full cycle from creation to measurement stays connected.

A crowded field

Webflow is entering a market with many AI marketing startups as well as marketing tools from large technology companies, TechCrunch noted. Tong said she expected Webflow's combination of content creation, campaign management and performance tracking to draw more customers despite that competition.

Webflow's blog post describes three layers it is building: hosting, security and compliance at the base; the content management system, design system, asset management and analytics in the middle; and, on top, the space where marketers and agents build, optimise, personalise and localise web pages together. Vidoso's technology is meant to strengthen the middle layer.

For Vidoso's users, Webflow said they would keep access to their products during the integration. The company did not give a date for when Vidoso's features would appear inside Webflow.
