CARS24, the Gurugram-based used-car marketplace, acquired Vehicle Info, an automotive utility app built by Surat-based Vasundhara Infotech LLP, Entrepreneur India reported on 11 March 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Vehicle Info will keep running as a standalone app with its existing team. Its features will be added step by step to CARS24's wider platform.
CARS24 said the purchase is part of its plan to build what it calls India's first full-stack vehicle ownership platform, covering the everyday tasks of owning a car rather than only the moments of buying and selling one.
What Vehicle Info built
Vehicle Info was founded in 2017 by Chirag Pipaliya, co-founder of Vasundhara Infotech. The app lets owners look up registration details, pay traffic challans, check insurance validity and renew policies, recharge FASTag toll accounts and review service history. It also gives resale value estimates and practice tools for regional transport office (RTO) driving tests.
The aim is to put records that owners usually check in several places, such as insurance, challans, FASTag balances and document compliance, into one app, with reminders when something is due. CXOToday reported that the app grew without paid marketing to reach lakhs (hundreds of thousands) of users. Reports describe it as bootstrapped; no outside funding has been reported.
“Vehicle Info was built with the goal of making vehicle-related information and services easily accessible for everyday users.”
Why CARS24 is buying
CARS24 was founded in 2015 by Vikram Chopra, Mehul Agrawal, Ruchit Agarwal and Gajendra Jangid. It runs a marketplace for used vehicles with financing, inspections, home delivery and help with registration paperwork, and operates in India, Australia, the UAE and parts of Southeast Asia and the Middle East.
A car is bought or sold only every few years, but owners deal with insurance, fines and tolls far more often. Owning the apps people use for those tasks gives CARS24 more frequent contact with owners. When it bought CarInfo in January 2026, Chopra said he expected higher engagement because managing vehicle documents and compliance happens far more often than buying a car.
Pipaliya said joining CARS24 would let the app grow further. "Vehicle Info was built with the goal of making vehicle-related information and services easily accessible for everyday users," he said, adding that the deal also validated the technology developed by the Vasundhara Infotech team.
A string of deals before an IPO
Vehicle Info follows two other purchases. In January 2026 CARS24 bought CarInfo, a vehicle records app founded by Sahil Ajmani in 2019, which also stays a standalone app. In April 2025 it acquired Team-BHP, an online community for car enthusiasts.
The company has also been cutting back. Ahead of a planned stock market listing, it closed spare parts platform Inspare in May 2025 and wound down consumer operations at car servicing business FourDoor and driver hiring service AutoPilot. Inc42 reported that restructuring led to several rounds of layoffs affecting more than 300 employees.
Chopra has said CARS24 plans to go public within six to twelve months, according to Inc42. Its adjusted net revenue for the first half of the 2026 financial year rose 18% year on year to ₹651 crore (about $73 million), and its adjusted EBITDA loss fell 36% to ₹162 crore (about $18 million).
What happens to users
Vehicle Info users should see no immediate change, since the app and its team stay in place. Over time its tools are to be built into CARS24's own platform, though neither company gave a timetable.
Pipaliya said the deal would let Vehicle Info scale its original idea and fit it into a larger system that supports users across the life of owning a vehicle. He also said it showed that digital products with wide relevance can be built from regional technology hubs such as Surat.
For CARS24, the app adds another set of regular users to its ecosystem alongside CarInfo, at a time when it is trying to show investors a broader business than one-off car sales. The Daily Guardian, which syndicated the announcement, also reported that Vehicle Info's team would stay in place after the deal.
